Blessings for shame

Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed.” (Isaiah 61:7-9 NIV)

Thank you God, for the faithfulness of my IC. Give him peace today and assurance that you have a tremendous future planned for him.

Uncertain days - A dear niece lost her husband in a helicopter accident last week - the pastor spoke from II Corinthians chapter 5, and then this morning, my devotional led me to the same passage.

God has made us for heaven.  His Holy Spirit in us is that pledge.  In this life of flesh, we groan - it is hard.  In that sense, we prefer to be in Heaven.  Whether here or there, our ambition is to be pleasing to the Lord.  Fact:  We all will appear before Christ's judgment seat and give an account of the deeds done in this life.  Our mission is to urge people to be reconciled to God through Christ, who knew no sin, but became sin for us, that we might become righteous.

Oh, Lord, help me to stay focused!

Beware of lions!

August 1, 2012  Today I was fearful as I walked through the Redwood Forest that a mountain lion would attack me.  I prayed and God protected.  When I returned, I found out that a mountain lion had attacked my daughter, KC. 

"I have engraved you on the palms of My hands."  Isaiah 49:15
